Constructing Magickal Models in an Information Society

Constructing magickal models in lieu of rapid advancements can be an exhilerating experience. The shadowy phoenix of a decentralized information society gradually rises from the ashes of the 20th century. For magical purposes, this is a gift with broad spectrum implications. Implementing technology driven deep learning methodologies enables the magician to perform workings of great magnitude for self-transformation, etc. The revelations manifested in this environment would skyrocket Phil Hine’s “Cybernetic” magickal models to peak levels. Inner knowledge unveiled through (mostly “accidental”) indirect communication via multiple sources is the primary framework to work with here. The human mind functions as a neural network of memes randomly accessing information bits retained in the memory bank and creating reality narratives. This is entirely a subconscious operation. There is intellectual refinement occurring in the background, although a lack of grounding is present. If the perceptual vantage point is positioned correctly, one can use this function to their advantage. The problem arrives when it becomes a never-ending process that ultimately comes of no use. This is primarily due to attention not being directed towards any established knowledge base that may be of interest to the individual. Many magickal models fall apart due to relentless and chaotic disorganization. Discord expresses a central position within the parameters of the postmodern magickal currents (inferentially speaking), however, setting up some subtle, fixed yet simultaneously temporal variables be extremely beneficial for some practitioners.

As far as construction of magick models is concerned, this wealth of information can feel suffocating, even constricting. With a plethora of information at the tip of our fingertips, it is easy to get lost and pulled into many different directions, develop conflicting thought patterns and falling into stagnancy. Opposing viewpoints are of seemingly equal merit. There is a subtle bipolarity that may develop as a result that can be apprehended if one cultivates awareness, otherwise it is easy to get pulled in if not adequately trained mentally.

The idea here is to transform the chaotic landscape into something dynamic and flexible whilst still keeping in spirit of the magickal current of the times (in my opinion, reintegrating the chaos magick current is ideal) and moving it forward through newer generations. Organization and simplification can be allocated as the first task. This includes the digital landscape as well. Organized room, schedule, minimalist desktop, document folder, bookmarks toolbar, etc. with a level of organization rivaling qualities described by Benjamin Franklin in his autobiography. Remove/delete anything and everything you don’t immediately need (or at least upload onto a cloud or external hard disk). Allocate everything from books, pencils and papers into a perfect organized state. This idea should be rinsed and recycled as many times as necessary. Becoming familiar with the nature of decentralized information and the open source movement is highly recommended. The use and replacement of open source versions of your favorite softwares will generate many magickal models automatically.

The second task would be to strike a balance between scientific precision and child-like inference. Inquiries into the essence of occult systems can be backed by historical research and source information. Study of Tantra from a historical perspective can be backed by imaginative practices unique to the magical framework of the individual and adapting to current state of affairs (for example, linking characteristics of deity technologies in Tantrik Yoga to Discordianism).

The third task involves what can be best described as learning to find diamonds in the rough. In the case of the Internet, some environments are better than others, although that is entirely for the individual to decide (one man’s trash and all that). Google may serve a primary function, however when it comes to specific tasks it falls short in many ways. Keeping a list of databases and niche search engines designed specifically for the task at hand will save much time once all the right applications are already downloaded, installed and allocated properly. Organized mind maps help to navigate not only the individual psyche but the collective state of humanity in the 21st century.

It might be tempting to go full OCD when embarking on this side-project, which is why simplification is emphasized. One might ironically find themselves navigating meta-chaotic attempts at perfecting the efficiency of organization (like I did!). Save the really good ideas like coding exotic machine learning programs for self-knowledge for later! Right now, start with the mundane stuff like keeping a room and desktop clean and tidy, creating a 24 hour/60 minute/60 second timetable and sticking to the program. Random unplanned variability of certain tasks is highly encouraged, but the main disciplines should be practiced consistently.

I will post tools and resources soon. Thank you for reading!
